Bjørn Lynne (As 'Dr. Awesome'):
Decade
Released 1996 on Studio17
Catalogue no. S17CD001

Decade is not only a music CD album by Dr.Awesome in "good'old Dr.Awesome style" - it is also a CDROM collection of all the music that Dr.Awesome has done in various computer formats. Hundreds of MOD files, MIDI files, OctaMED files, Fasttracker files, near-CD quality MP3 music, RealAudio music, etc. etc. - it's all here.

The music-section of the album contains 55 minutes of full studio music by Dr.Awesome; pop/rock, funk, electronic and other music styles in 12 cool tracks, all with a cheeky wink of humour and a strong resemblence to the classic Dr.Awesome sound.

The data-section contains all music "mod" files ever done by Dr.Awesome, with each module having a short story/description written by Dr.Awesome - now you can find out when, why and how classic Dr.Awesome modules like 12th Warrior, Space Deliria, Tied Up, Empty Spaces, Zine 10 music and more than 200 other Dr.Awesome modules were made.

But this is only the beginning of "Decade"'s data-section. Included are also all of Dr.Awesome's General MIDI songs, special SB AWE32/64 / SBLive MIDI songs with custom soundfonts, RealAudio and MP3-music from all LYNNE/Dr.Awesome albums and all his game soundtracks; as well as a complete copy of the entire LYNNE/Dr.Awesome web-site, with pictures, studio-info, newsletters, game-soundtracks, and lots lots more.

"Decade" is the ultimate Dr.Awesome music collection. The music section can be played in any ordinary music CD player; and the data-section is compatible with PC, Mac and Amiga computers.

Reviews for "Decade":

When one reviews the history of music a page or two of it must surely be about what is called the Amiga Music Scene with a bizarre music format called The Module or "mod" to friends. And in that sphere there has been melodic giants like Jogeir "Noiseless" Liljedahl, Peter "Skaven" Hajba, Jonne "Purple Motion" Valtonen, Allister Brimble, Moby, Teque, Raphael "Audiomonster" Gesqua to name just a few...But more awesome than these giants is Dr.Awesome. Bjørn A. Lynne (BAL) of Crusaders & Dens had divinic status in that era. He delivered mods after mods of pure enchanting harmonious manna. What really is *awesome* about BAL is that he never be tossed to and from by every wind of hype & passing trends. To Mr. Lynne music comes from within and any tracked arrangement of cords and beats is *not* a module. Mods like NowWhat III has an arrangement can teach a few vibes to even the most ardent symphonist or Bridge to the Universe II has a melody that would hypnotize even Vivaldi! If you love edifying music get this awesome collection & experience decades of joy with the hundreds of pieces contained herein. - Joseph Salomonsen, Norway

If you're new to the ProTracker universe, but have already heard and enjoyed some PC modules made with FastTracker or ImpulseTracker, you'll be definitely surprised by how good 4-channels modules could sound, even ten years ago !

Bjørn is a living legend in the demo-scene, and his wonderful modules are still an inexhaustible source of awe. Just compare Space Deliria 2000 on his "Revive" album with his original Space Deliria module - this will just be the beginning of your amazement. Now if you're an Amiga old-timer, you perfectly know what to expect ;-) - Patrice Machin, France
